Q: Do I need Ultra-Shift+PLUS™ Lubrication Accelerator additive? A: It depends on your needs, expectations and demands you place on your transmission. Most likely just having the Ultra-Shift™ Transmission Lubricant in your tranny will put a smile on your face. However, if you feel you need even more improvement, increased heat reduction and accelerated lubrication properties, then Ultra-Shift+PLUS™ might be just what you need.
Q: Where would the Ultra-Shift+PLUS™ additive work best? A: In the severest conditions, the harshest environments, hottest temperatures and most demanding situations exist. The most favorable applications are in higher performance transmissions with big, thick and stout gears where the shifting is already "notchy" and you almost have to "click it into gear".
Q: Can I add more than the recommended 1 ounce per quart of the Ultra-Shift+PLUS™ additive to my transmission? A: Yes you can, but since you already have the Ultra-Shift™ Transmission Lubricant in your tranny, there will most likely be no additional benefit from adding more of the Ultra-Shift+PLUS™ additive, in fact, the super smooth shifting could actually deteriorate if too much is added.
Q: Can I put too much Ultra-Shift+PLUS™ in my transmission? A: Yes you can. Don't let the small bottle fool you. this stuff is POWERFUL! When mixed with the already extremely potent Ultra-Shift™ Transmission Lubricant, the concentrated effects are released for incredible results.
Q: What happens if I put too much Ultra-Shift+PLUS™ additive in my transmission? A: No initial damage will occur and the concentration can be easily reversed. If too much of the Ultra-Shift+PLUS™ is added, the most common problem that will arrise is that the oil mixture is now SO SLIPPERY, that even the synchros will not engage, thus resulting in difficulty getting the transmission into gear, and maybe even notice a grinding noise when attempting to force it in. The Synchro rings are the "guides" that are supposed to pre-align one gear to the next so the teeth of those gears will effortlessly mesh when shifting. When the oil becomes too slippery, these guides won't pre-engage thus the gears will not be pre-aligned when trying to shift.
Q: If I come across this problem, how do I correct it. A: The answer is to simply dilute the concentrate. The quickest and easiest procedure would be to remove the entire oil contents of the transmission into a clean, large container and add a 25% of that measured volume with our EPL™ 75w90 Gear Oil (CLICK HERE)
follow this example... if your transmission holds 3 quarts, you would want to add 1 quart of EPL™ 75w90 Gear Oil, then add the contents back into your transmission keeping the remaing one quart mixture on the shelf. It may take a while for the super slick film provided by the Ultra-Shift+PLUS™ to wear off, so give it several hundred miles to take full effect.
EPL™ is not just a standard gear oil, and adding any other oil in this process may not achieve the same results.
