durable. The Reactor™ alternator is not just another stocker in a pretty package. The gleaming polished chrome plated or optional vintage natural aluminum housing of the Reactor™ hides a super heavy duty power plant that makes a whopping 100 amps at fast idle (1), withstands ultra high RPM's, handles brutal current load demands and does it all while not requiring any external regulators or wiring other than one single wire going from this alternator to the battery. That's it! Compact, potent, powerful, durable and reliable all in one package. The Reactor™ Bolts right on for the specific applications available and works with virtually any existing electrical system or wiring! For more information on the Reactor™, read the detailed specs below...

...More on the Reactor™ Alternators

This very special alternator out performs and outlasts virtually anything in it's category on the market. The extra high output of the Reactor™ at fast idle (1) feeds all the electrical needs for electric fans, high output ignitions, engine management systems, radios, heaters and high output headlamps. Most other alternators only produce a fraction of their rated output at idle and have to be revved to create their maximum output, and many of the other so called high output 100 amp ones only put out 15-20 amps at idle, with barely put out their maximum current when revved to 2500-3000 rpm. This does little to help while in traffic, parades and especially cruising in high gear on the highway at a low RPM.
This under hood Power Plant solves all those problems and more. The Reactor-100™ self regulated alternator eliminates the need for an external voltage regulator, or any other external charging system wiring. Unlike converted GM internally regulated versions, this compact onboard regulator is easily replaced without removing the alternator from the vehicle or even taking the unit apart! Solve ongoing charging system problems in one mighty stroke by installing this unit. All you need is one single wire going to your battery. That's it! It's as easy as that, and you can discard all your existing wiring!

Most high performance engines with radical camshafts idle between 1300-1500 rpms, however the below chart shows output at lower rpm's...

And also unlike most other so-called "one wire" alternators that actually need a second wire from the key switch to "excite" the windings to start the current production, the Reactor™ is completely self contained and self excites the charging system as soon as the engine is started and the alternator reaches it's energizing rpm (3). The alternator then remains energized until the engine is shut down. This ensures there is no voltage draw while the engine is off, draining the battery. The Reactor™ also comes with an optional connection to retain the functionality of the dash light charging system warning indicator lamp. The Reactor™ alternator has stood up to demanding environments such as sand, mud, water and even the 400+ amp loads of a 12,000 pound winch as well as ultra-hi rpm revving racing engines!
footnotes: (1) = fast idle based on 1,475 rpms (3) Engine rpm may be different depending on pulley configuration and can be between 650-1500 rpm
