So, how Quick IS a Superformance? Take some of the greatest road cars ever built, and put them all together for a side by side comparison. Which would win? The ability to accelerate a given mass, a given distance in the shortest period of time is a simple mathematical calculation expressed in Pounds per Horsepower, more commonly called the "Power to Weight Ratio." This method of comparison is a longstanding formula to compare a vehicle's potential, at least on paper. Keep in mind, this does not necessarily reflect quarter mile times, nor does it estimate top speeds, but simply the 'seat of the pants' acceleration experience. The chart below graphically shows how the Mark-III stands up to some of the greatest cars ever built… and it's obvious, that the Mark-III can certainly be considered one of them...
